A common bracket fungus where its cap were forming the shape of a  cup. It grows in a decaying branch of a tree.

The fruiting body or the basidiocarp are large and shaped like a bracket called as conks. Can be found on a living tree or in a rotten wood. They can be parasitic or saprotrophic. So if it grows in a favored environment, it can grow large, hard and thick which may lead to the death of the tree. and continuously feeding on it in its decomposing stage.
